Kamarade

Set in a dehumanized society of the near future, technology has replaced nearly all human interaction, isolating people under the guise of ‘optimization.’ In this setting, the government provides ‘last day notification’ services wherein all citizens are contacted with a 24-hour courtesy call warning them of their impending death. Precisely one day before her predetermined passing, Mariam receives such a call from Bob, a real-life operator that is on his first day on the job, informing her of her final day.
